July saw the launch of the Prior Information Notice (PIN) for the framework for
Digital Training and Assisted Digital services. This framework will provide public sector organisations with a way to contract for two things:
1.) Assisted Digital Services: The provision of support services to anyone who cannot use or access government's digital services independently, so that with assistance they can complete transactions for those services.
2.) Digital Inclusion Services: This will include the needs assessment or analysis, design and/or the delivery of basic digital skills training courses.
The pre-approved organisations who sit on the framework can then bid for these contracts. For a more detailed explanation, please see this
blog from the
Government Digital Service (GDS). The centralised framework makes it simpler for 3rd sector organisations to contract with the Government and wider public sector.
If this is something you would like to know more about and potentially influence, then the lovely folks at GDS are running a supplier engagement event at SCVO’s Hayweight House office in Edinburgh on the 7th September. If you would like to attend then please register your interest as per the instructions below:
To register your interest please email digitaltraining-procurement1@digital.cabinet-office.gov.uk, making clear you wish to attend the Edinburgh event (there is another event being held in London and we don't want to get them mixed up), with the name of your organisation, and the name, job title, and contact details of the lead representative.
Once you have registered, an invitation will be sent to you containing details of the event. Places will be offered in order of registration and could take a couple of days to come through. In the interest of fairness, GDS will be sharing event content and findings on their
blog.
