In 2015, CHAS commissioned York Health Economics Consortium (YHEC) to undertake an economic evaluation of the services it provides. This work was completed in May 2016 and an updated report produced in 2018 for the 2016/17 financial year.2 Since that time, CHAS has continued to develop new and expanded services, and CHAS has requested that the previous economic evaluation is updated. This report comprises an update of the original reports, refreshed to reflect service changes in subsequent years.

Key finding:

• for every £1 of statutory funding, CHAS' experienced staff, generous supporters and dedicated volunteers generate £6.24 of public value in return.
