The Crisis of COVID-19 and UK Women’s Charities (June 2020)
Women's Resource Centre (WRC) designed this survey in partnership with Rosa, the UK fund for women and girls, and the Women's Fund for Scotland (WFS), in March-April 2020. The purpose of the survey was for the women’s organisations to describe and explain their needs and the challenges they are facing amidst the coronavirus outbreak.
Key Findings:
Lockdown measures have resulted in increased levels of isolation amongst service users and their marginalisation and susceptibility to risk exacerbating. The respondents considered the crisis affecting their service users in a variety of ways including an immediate and enduring decline in mental health, increased risk of emotional trauma, decline in physical health, increased risk of VAWG and increased poverty levels both in the short-term and in the long-term.
