This report presents an overview of the human rights pilot project for the year April 2009 ? April 2010. The human rights pilot project established a working group made up of NHS board representatives to look at current practice and appreciation of human rights with NHS Scotland. The review of human rights practice in Scotland assisted in forming the recommendations of the working group which are listed in this report. These were presented to the Mutuality Equality and Human Rights Board (MEHRB) in June 2010. The report also provides the legal and policy background to rights practice in Scotland with specific reference to healthcare.
