The Big Hare Trail - Leuchie House

Why you should vote for The Big Hare Trail - Leuchie House for the People’s Choice Award

The Big Hare Trail enabled us to super-charge our profile, raise awareness of conditions like MS, and brought us closer to the community. It helped us raise £193,215 to replace income that would have otherwise been lost due to the pandemic. We built relationships with the business community and as the chosen charity for the abrdn Scottish Open 2021, we were able to feature a golfing-themed hare sculpture at the globally televised event, signed by the world’s top golfers. Thousands of people of all ages visited the trail, and Leuchie attracted new donors and service users as a result.

The Big Hare Trail allowed us to mark our 10th Anniversary as an independent charity by shouting from the rooftops that Leuchie is ‘Hare to Stay’. The campaign overcame the challenges of fundraising during the pandemic in a fun and engaging way. Leuchie worked in partnership with Wild in Art to deliver this spectacular public art event for the community that featured 10 six-foot-tall Hare sculptures, each one individually designed by a local artist to form a free, family-friendly trail of discovery. Fundraising initiatives held throughout the 10-week trail included an auction, and helped the campaign raise more than £193,000.
