Last year we helped more families than ever, answering over 3000 helpline contacts. We are their lifeline, the place where they can get information, support, understanding and most importantly the place where they know they are not alone.

Scottish Families supports anyone concerned about someone else’s alcohol or drug use. Families can face anger, stress, isolation, loneliness, financial problems and anxiety all while trying to support their loved one. Substance use remains a critical issue in Scotland with stigma being a barrier to many getting help. Most families who are harmed by someone else’s alcohol or drug use remain hidden from sight. We believe that supporting everything that families do to keep their loved one safe is crucial. Our services provide the help they need in their own right. Families tell us that we are their lifeline.
