Empower Angus

Funding is available for non-profits in Angus, Scotland. Empower Community Foundation has launched a fund to support community projects working on/aiming to support the local community and environment.Assisting with the the most compelling current needs of the local community remains the focus of this funding, having donated £100k over the last four years to Voluntary Action Angus, Angus Carers Association, CAFE Project, Edinburgh Science Festival school programme, Angus Care and Repair and Carmyllie Hall.

Participatory Budgeting (PB) gives local residents a direct role in identifying priorities, making decisions, and allocating a portion of public funding. This approach has been implemented across all nine Neighbourhood Planning areas in South Lanarkshire, allowing communities to influence how money is spent in their local area.Priorities and criteria will depend on your local area.Funding must follow the principles: Fair and Inclusive Participatory, Deliberative, Empowering, Creative and Flexible, Transparent, and Part of our democracy.

GreenPower agreed to put in place a community benefit fund that would be available to the communities surrounding the wind farm. GreenPower makes contributions to the fund twice yearly in April and October currently totalling £72,200 per annum which is index linked.The Carraig Gheal Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund Steering Group meets at least twice a year to decide which of the main grant applications will be funded.

Funds local projects delivered for the benefit of single geographic communities in the Stirling Council area. Projects can include physical infrastructure and environmental improvements as well as activity promoting community spirit. Examples include; improvements to existing facilities such as structures, benches and fencing; sustainable floral displays; recycling facilities; spring cleans; activity that promotes your community or fosters community spirit.Projects must meet the Stirling Council priorities, a list of which can be found in the fund guidance notes.

The Leslie Sell Charitable Trust makes small grants to Groups to help with the cost of making repairs, purchasing sundry items of equipment, or trips in the UK or overseas.They like to receive details of the project which requires funding, for example small–scale building works, repairs, or alterations, replacement of camping or other equipment, replacement of minibuses, together with details of the costs involved, and sight of any quotation you may have.For group trips, they need details of the destination, the number and names, First and Surname, of the young people and leaders taking part and any planned activities, together with the costs involved and dates of travel.
