The Weir Charitable Trust aims to support Scottish-based community groups and small charities to provide services across Scotland to help the Scottish community. These groups and charities are likely to have found it difficult to access funds elsewhere. It fund supports services/projects in the following qualifying categories:- Sport: encouraging and increasing public participation in sport (activities which involve physical skill and exertion)- Recreational facilities: the provision or organisation of recreational facilities (buildings, pitches or similar) with the aim of improving the conditions of life for the people for whom the facilities are primarily intended. This is only in relation to facilities which are primarily intended for people who need them due to age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage. - Animal welfare: for the advancement of animal welfare- Health: the advancement of health, including prevention or relief of sickness, disease or human suffering- Culture: supporting the heritage - tangible or otherwise - of Scotland, through projects that encourage participation in and preservation of Scotland's distinctive culture.

Dumfries and Galloway Council can provide financial assistance to the third sector (voluntary and community organisations) who can apply to one or more of four Area Committees: Annandale and Eskdale; Nithsdale; Stewartry; Wigtown. Individuals may also apply in certain circumstances.Each Committee has agreed their own Priorities, Criteria and Eligibility which are detailed on the website.

The Fund aims to promote community spirit and bring people together; enhance quality of life and promote people’s well-being; and foster vibrant sustainable communities. It seeks to do this by awarding funding for projects or activities that contribute to the following priorities: - foster social networks & activities that support older people in the community - assist young people to maximise their potential and improve their life chances - promote better relationships between different generations - encourage healthy lifestyles and good mental health - support the development and use of new community assets, and maintain and enhance existing ones - address the effects of rural isolation, improving access to services and improving transport - support skills development and non-profit making initiatives that will nurture a thriving and diverse local economy - minimises environmental impacts and reduces ‘carbon footprint’ - strengthen the ability of local people and groups to continue to meet their own needs and make a difference within their communities.

The Kincardineshire Educational Trust was set up for residents, schools and organisations in the former County of Kincardine. The Trust awards grants to individuals, schools and organisations to help with the cost of school trips, further education and funding for sports clubs and facilities. Parents and guardians can also apply if they are receiving certain benefits or on a low income.

The fund aids research into learning disability aids the care and relief of those affected by learning disability. Their priorities are learning disabilities (intellectual disabilities) and autism and they will consider projects for children or adults. They will fund: - Capital building/renovation/refurbishment works for residential, nursing and respite care, and schools;- Employment schemes including woodwork, crafts, printing and horticulture;- Play schemes and play therapy schemes;- Day and social activities centres including building costs and running costs;- Support for families, including respite schemes;- Independent living schemes;- Support in the community schemes;- Snoezelen rooms.

Fallago Environment Fund aims to enhance the quality of life for local communities and visitors to the Borders through investment in the protection, enhancement and appreciation of the natural, built and cultural heritage of the Scottish Borders environment. The main emphasis of the Fund is on capital projects that leave a long-term legacy (Main Grants Programme). However, core funding support will be considered, in exceptional circumstances, to those organisations that can clearly demonstrate how their activities complement and deliver on the aim of the Fund (Core Funding Programme).

The Sustainable Communities Fund aims to support local people to develop sustainable projects that will promote or improve community collaboration, health and wellbeing, local spaces, economic development, biodiversity and the environment.Applications can be for revenue funding, capital funding or both and they are looking for projects that will:- tackle issues like isolation, food insecurity, healthy eating, health inequalities and fuel poverty- improve public health and access to services, green spaces and social activities- develop or regenerate community assets and infrastructure- increase accessibility and inclusivity to services and places and participation in activities- act on climate change.

The Tree Council has funds available to assist schools and community groups proposing to undertake well-planned tree planting projects during National Tree Week. They can fund trees, hedges and orchard trees and reasonable costs of supports and aids – stakes, ties, guards, fertiliser, mulch, soil amelioration.

The Trust supports charitable institutions, societies and/or indigent persons connected with the town or burgh of Kinross and the parish of Orwell at the discretion of the trustees. Trust funds to be applied for charitable, beneficial or public purposes. In the past the trust has funded local youth, sport and school groups as well as churches, often for capital projects.

The grant scheme is designed to mobilise change and deliver positive outcomes for Shetland and its communities. The scheme seeks to support the community and economic development of Shetland by investing in infrastructure, community capacity building, and developing community assets and encouraging inclusive growth.The scheme also aims to encourage regeneration of Shetland’s communities by supporting projects that safeguard sustainable economic growth and jobs, promote inclusion and contribute towards poverty reduction.Projects seeking funding must be a strong fit to Shetland's Partnership Plan 2018 – 2028, and the shared vision that "Shetland is a place where everyone is able to thrive; living well in strong, resilient communities; and where people and communities are able to help plan and deliver solutions to future challenges."
