Trustees' Week 2021
Trustees' Week (1-5 November 2021) is an annual event to showcase the great work trustees do, celebrate our boards and provide opportunities for everyone to get involved and make a difference.
We want to say thank you to the 250,000 trustees across the country who help shape and guide voluntary sector organisations for playing a vital role, volunteering your time and working together to make important decisions about your organisation's work. Trustees' Week is about celebrating your passion and commitment by sharing your stories and different perspectives.

1 NOV - Rise & Shine with our Scottish Charity Awards Trustee of the Year finalists
The finalists for Trustee of the Year will reflect on the past 12 months where they faced extreme challenges and reveal how they excelled despite an ever-changing landscape. They will discuss how they became a trustee, and what they find most rewarding, and most challenging, about the role.
1 NOV – Trustee Recruitment Cycle: getting the right mix of trustees
Join Janet Thorne, CEO of Reach Volunteering, who will guide you through the six stages of the Trustee Recruitment Cycle to help you build the board that your charity needs and hear about the launch of a special offer for Trustees Week 2021 where voluntary organisations in Scotland can advertise their trustees vacancy for free on goodmoves during November and December.
2 NOV – Digital Good Governance Checkup Launch
This webinar will explore how SCVO's new self-assessment Good Governance Checkup can be used to help trustees regularly review and improve their organisation's governance.
3 NOV – Good Governance: lived experience on boards
Join Caroline Copeman, Consultant and Senior Visiting Fellow at City, University of London’s Bayes Business School who is leading work in this area to gather a range of resources about lived experience on charity boards.
4 NOV – How digital tools can make your board more inclusive
Join SCVO's Digital team to explore new ways of thinking to help your board become more inclusive - you will get lots of tips and techniques to use digital tools to help future proof your board and ensure you can attract and retain a diverse mix of trustees.
4 NOV – How trustees can champion board diversity
Join Penny Wilson, from Getting on Board, Malcolm John from Action for Trustee Racial Diversity, and Manish Joshi, SCVO trustee, to hear about the practical ways trustees can diversify their boards and make change from the inside out.
