Most of our training courses are delivered online. When you pick an event or course through our events and training calendar you'll be able to see which format it is. If you're looking for in-person training for your team, you can find out more about our in-house training offer.

After learners have completed one of our courses they will receive a certificate of achievement, which states the title, date, duration and trainer, and is signed by Anna Fowlie, CEO of SCVO. This is a good way to keep track of their learning and development journey.

Learners will receive any pre-course materials and/or a package of learning materials on completion of the course, which means learning can continue beyond the course.

Our training is open and accessible to everyone.
If you have any particular adjustments or support requests, we're happy to work with you to make sure you get the most out of our courses. Email training@scvo.scot if you'd like to discuss any accessibility requirements and one of the team will be in touch within the week.

Here are some examples of adjustments we've been able to make for delegates in the past:

  • Course learning materials in advance
  • Learning materials in alternative formats
  • Free online or in-person places for carers and personal assistants
  • Accommodating assistance animals for in-person training sessions.

If you need to cancel your place on a training course, please email us at training@scvo.scot. We appreciate you letting us know as soon as possible so we can offer the place to someone else, as we often have a waiting list.

If you cancel with less than 10 days notice, we may have to take a cancellation fee. More details can be found in our terms and conditions, which you'll receive when you book.

If you have any questions about your booking, please get in touch with the team and let us help by emailing training@scvo.scot.

Do you want to bring our training in-house, so you can offer it to a wider number of staff and volunteers? No problem! We offer bespoke in-house training packages, where we'll find out what you need and provide you with a tailored offer that meets your needs.

Members receive discounted rates on all our in-house training packages.

Find out more about our in-house training.
