By the end of this session, participants will:
- Understand how ClimatACTical works to increase climate confidence in relation to organisational missions and operations
- Explore the wider learning and development outcomes the game offers
- Learn about different use cases and how the game can be integrated into everyday organisational practice or used with service users
- Description
Wondering how climate action fits into the day‑to‑day running of your third sector organisation, or where to start in a practical and manageable way? This short lunchtime session explores those questions as we launch ClimatACTical, a new gamified learning resource from the Growing Climate Confidence project.
ClimatACTical is a facilitated game of climate choices and organisational strategy. It helps teams step back from operational pressure to explore how climate resilience connects to organisational mission, everyday operations, and long‑term sustainability, while identifying practical actions to reduce emissions and respond to rising costs.
In this introductory session you’ll get a taster of the game, learn how it can be used in staff development or team sessions, and be introduced to the wider Growing Climate Confidence resources. You’ll leave with clear next steps on how to print and play, borrow a kit, or book a hosted session - and a sense of how organisations across Scotland are already using ClimatACTical.
We'll cover:
- What is ClimatACTical?
- How does the game work?
- What formats does it suit?
- How to get involved, including upcoming pop‑up Play and Learn events across Scotland
- Who is the event aimed at?
This session is aimed at people working in voluntary, community, and social enterprise organisations who want a practical and accessible way to explore how climate action connects to their organisation.
It will be particularly useful for:
- Â Staff, managers, or team leads involved in operations, programmes, or organisational development
- Trustees or board members who want to better understand climate risks, opportunities, and organisational responsibilities
- People responsible for staff learning, engagement, or facilitating team discussions
- Anyone working under constant operational pressure and looking for realistic approaches to climate action that fit limited time and resources
Whether your organisation is just beginning to explore climate action or already taking steps and wanting to build confidence and shared understanding, this session offers a supportive starting point.
No prior climate knowledge or experience is required.
