Overview

This is the first in a series of lunchtime webinars that will help you gain a better understanding of the role and responsibilities of a trustee and is an ideal induction for new trustees, or a refresher for existing board members. You will get an overview of the key legal responsibilities of a trustee, and an understanding of different charity legal structures and areas of potential liability. You will have an opportunity to pose your own questions to one of SCVO's Bono Service legal partners, Kenneth Pinkerton of Brodies, find out how the board should govern effectively, join the SCVO Trustee Network, and get access to further free e-learning materials and useful templates.

Overall aim

This webinar will help trustees understand what to expect and and what is expected of them when they join a board. It will help you start your journey to good governance and equip you with the essential knowledge to give you the confidence to carry out your role effectively.
