Overview

On this DigiShift, we hear from Darran Gillan, National Digital Development Lead at YMCA Scotland, who will explain how YMCA Scotland used Virtual Reality headsets and software to deliver youth work activities to their service users during the pandemic. Finding that video conferencing wasn't a suitable replacement for traditional youth work, YMCA Scotland sought a more fun and engaging way to connect with young people.

Darran will share the journey that YMCA went on, transforming youth work being delivered on video conferencing, to young people meeting for coffee in a virtual reality space, creating a wellbeing gallery to playing laser tag with Roomscale VR! Darran will demystify how to use virtual reality and share what they learned along the way.
