Overview

A session with the Scottish Government’s Third Sector Unit (TSU) on the Scottish Government’s review of Charity Regulation consultation. 

Description

The Scottish Government is running a consultation on whether a review of Charity Regulation in Scotland is needed, and if so, what the purpose and parameters of a review should be. The consultation was published on 29 April 2024 and closes at midnight on Monday 22 July 2024.

This is a crucial opportunity for the voluntary sector to ensure that the regulatory landscape is improved and modernised as the result of a comprehensive review. SCVO is encouraging all organisations to engage with this consultation if possible, to ensure that the length and breadth of our sector takes the chance to highlight that a review is needed and input into its scope.

We will be joined by the Scottish Government’s Third Sector Unit (TSU) team, responsible for developing policy and investing in intermediary organisations and programmes to support the voluntary sector in Scotland. The presentation will give an overview of the current consultation, why it has come about and what it hopes to achieve.
