- Overview
Safeguarding is a key responsibility for charity trustees and senior leaders. If you don't get it right, failure can not only have a devastating impact on your charity’s beneficiaries, employees and supporters, it can also damage your reputation and that of the wider voluntary sector. Safeguarding needs to be proactive and means going over and above your minimum legal responsibilities and making sure the culture within your organisation is to respect and protect the people there.
- Overall aim
This free lunchtime webinar will help you understand how to ensure there are measures in place to protect beneficiaries, and others who come into contact with your organisation, from harm. We will be joined by SCVO Free Legal Advice Service partners MacRoberts, The Charity Regulator (OSCR), and Tom Burke, SCVO safeguarding trainer and UK Regional Advisor for the Funder Safeguarding Collaborative. We will explore learning from past safeguarding investigations and look at trustee duties and good governance, employer responsibilities and OSCR guidance and reporting.
There will be lots of time for you to ask questions and share your own experiences. You will also find out how to get access to further training and support.
- Who was the event aimed at?
This event is free for SCVO member organisations and members of the SCVO Trustee Network.
- Other Information
