Using SCVO templates

We’re very pleased to be able to provide you with templates and hope you find them helpful. Here’s some guidance and terms & conditions for using them.

How to use SCVO templates

Our templates are here to give you a starting point – you’ll need to adapt them to suit your own organisation and, if necessary, get some advice to make sure they meet all your legal and regulatory requirements. Please do read them carefully and make sure you’ve filled out all the sections you need to.

Our templates are in Word documents, click the link and it’ll download. Make sure you save it somewhere you can find it.

Where you see text in square brackets [LIKE THIS] it means you need to change it – to your own organisation’s name, contact details, or agreed figures.

We’ve put some text at the top of each document – once you’ve read it you can delete it.

Why not insert your own organisation’s logo or branding? This will make it feel and look like your own.

There’s space at the bottom of the document for version control – this is a way of displaying which version it is, who owns it and when it was last updated.

Make sure you keep the document somewhere it can be accessed by anyone who might need it and remember that you could potentially be asked to share them with members of the public.

Terms & conditions

Use of this model is entirely at your own risk.

You should check that this policy is compliant with the law and with your own governing document.

This model or template is provided by Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO) for use by organisations working in Scotland – the law may be different outside of Scotland.

SCVO assumes no liability for use or content of these templates.
