Along with
BT and Citizens Online, we’re calling all local authorities and housing associations with strong digital programmes to partner with us to bid to bring the Get Connected programme to Scotland.
We all know that to get and keep people online, we need to completely overhaul how the digital skills community operates. Get Connected will fill the gaps in existing digital skills provision by working with key local partners (local authorities, housing associations and Job Centre Plus) to enhance the impact of digital skills training and ensure that people retain these skills in the long term.
Partners will be selected depending on the percentage of people without basic online skills, levels of unemployment and percentage of older people in their area. Willingness to collaborate at a strategic and system-changing level, and to provide supporting resources is essential.
