We work with colleagues across the voluntary sector to ensure the impact of regulation on the sector is fully considered and understood.
We know that effective regulation can protect public trust in voluntary organisations and is also vital to a well-functioning voluntary sector. It is therefore essential that laws and regulations effecting the sector are proportionate, meaningful, and fit for purpose.
Laws and regulations impact the entire sector, from registered charities to small community groups. We work with colleagues across the sector, government, parliament, and other legislative decision makers to understand what legal and regulatory changes mean for different parts of the sector.
We ensure that the impacts of regulation on the sector is fully considered and that the sector’s voice is heard on a range of regulations including, Freedom of Information, Charity Law, the Lobbying Act, charity tax, and charity business and water rates.
