We work with colleagues across the voluntary sector to ensure the impact of regulation on the sector is fully considered and understood.
Effective regulations protect public trust in voluntary organisations, but changes to the rules that affect the sector should be proportionate and fit for purpose.
We monitor and respond to any change that will influence the sector’s operating environment and focus on new rules that might risk the financial, operational, and reputational resilience of Scotland’s voluntary sector.
We work with colleagues in the voluntary sector, government, parliament, and other decision-makers to understand what legal and regulatory changes mean for different parts of the sector.
Working across areas such as charity law, freedom of information, defamation, and business and water rates, we look to ensure that the impacts of regulation on the sector are reflected upon and shape decision-making.
